Content management system

Overview

CMS (content management system) is a powerful feature that allows publishers to organize and manage their video content, set and customize VeraPlay, and publish videos on websites

Videos Library

Video List

After clicking on the Video menu item, you will move to the Video list page. On your first visit, you will find a demo video here.

Once you have uploaded video content, you can sort it by:

  • video title
  • last updated video
  • last uploaded video

Also, you may use filtering and search for convenient navigation on the content library

Uploading new video

To upload a new video, the user must click on the button and select the appropriate file

The file downloading will start in a background process. The user can see uploading progress. It is possible to upload some files at once.

After successful upload, the user will see the status "Uploaded".

The default status of recently uploaded videos is "Inactive". To proceed with using that, a user needs to activate them. Also, a user can set the Title, Description, and Language fields.

On the " Thumbnail " tab, a user can define a video thumbnail that can be uploaded or created from a video frame.

Playlists management

For publishing on websites, the videos must be added to playlists. The playlist must contain at least one video.

To create a new playlist, the user should click on the “Create playlist” button.

Here a user can fill in the playlist Title, Description, and Content (IAB) category. Also, it is possible to upload a thumbnail for this playlist.

To fill the list a user should use the “Add videos” button.

After filling the list, a user can change the sequence of video playback by drag and drop.

The user can also edit or delete the selected playlist by selecting the appropriate option in the context menu.

Video player

In the video player section, the user can configure the video player parameters, determine the appearance of the player and its behavior, and the logic for displaying ads.

To create a new player, the user should click on the “Create Player” button.

On the “General” tab, the user specifies the player's name, indicates on which web page the player will be placed, and the contents of which playlist will be played.

On the “Default settings” tab, the user defines player size or proportions, initial player settings, and available user controls on the player. Player size can be defined as “Responsive”. In this case, the user sets the ratio value. If the user chooses “Fixed”, they specify specific width and height values in pixels. On the user controls block, the user can define which control buttons will be available for a website visitor.

On the “Floating player mode” tab, the user enables and customizes player behaviors when floating. It can be tuned separately for each device type (desktop, tablet, mobile),

On the “Monetization” tab, the user configures video ad placement. Here the user can choose between pre-rolls and mid-rolls or enable both. The user can customize intervals between ad requests, max number of ad breaks (for the mid-rolls), max ad duration and ad skip delay.

The page is used to customize the appearance of the player - color scheme and logo placement.

After creating a player, the following actions are available in the context menu:

The “Player preview” allows the user to check how the player will look on the different devices with the current settings. The user can also see what the player looks like in the floating mode.

The “Get player code” item is intended to obtain the program code for placement on the publisher web page. The user can use "Edit" or "Delete" the item to perform the corresponding actions if needed.
